Abstract
Emma Boyce Gore is a conservator at KSH Conservation Ltd. When conserving a painting, Emma considers not only the materials and techniques but also the art historical context of the painting. Photographic archives allow her to see into the past to understand what paintings looked like at different stages of their restoration.
